Busan (15/7-16/7)

Typing out this post while at coffee bean at busan ktx station. Just chilling out before boarding the ktx back to Seoul.

It was a rather last minute decision to make this trip down to busan with my friend. Well, I reckon that since I'm here in Korea for a month - I should make the most of every opportunity to travel wherever I can. Literally 5/6 days ago I went to book my Airbnb and ktx. Few days later, off I go with my friend to the land of busan!

Early morning 7.30am in the ktx for busan!

Coincidentally met up with my Econs jc teacher - mr wong! It suddenly dawned upon me that someone told me he's now living in Korea, so I went to connect with him and arranged for a meet up. Nice to see him since I left jc 2 years ago! He definitely looks more Korean now.

Really thankful that he went through with us the places we can go, things to eat and how to take a bus (cos we haven't since most of the attractions are readily available through train). Every place has something different - busan is a place that's traditionally modern. Oxymoron, I know. Mostly traditional as I see more older folks here as compared to jeonju, jeju and Seoul.

So anyway, here's where we went!

Day #1

Taejongdae. A place that's popular for its lighthouse? Funny cos the lighthouse isn't even that attractive in itself. But the view is pretty good - although similar to jeju.

Us at the lighthouse! Without the lighthouse in the photo.

Well.. If you really wanna see it here you go.

Yup. That's it.

Gamcheon village. It's the Asian version of santorini! Really pretty village, I love it :)

This village is HUGE. We didn't manage to cover most of it, and decided to head back in case we got lost.

Although we got out successfully, getting to the bus stop was insane. There was this really steep and long slope. We killed our knees trying to walk down that slope whilst keeping our balance.

We went to Nampo-dong to have some dinner. This is Man in a Kitchen, as recommended by mr wong. OMG it was too good, I LOVED LOVED IT. Being really sick of Korean food, this was a breath of fresh air for me. This dish is a crab oyster spag with fish roe on top 😋😋😋

With that, our day ended in our Airbnb for a night. Really clean and had everything, I was really so impressed.

Day #2

Our morning started early! We got up early to catch the busan city tour bus to get us around the beaches and other places.

Well.. It was a rainy, windy day. Not the best for sightseeing. Shoes drenched, hair constantly out of place just look at this:
HEHE. A moustache is growing.

First stop - gwangalli beach!

Second stop - haeungdae beach. It's kinda the same view, so didn't take any photos.

Third stop - dongbaek island! It is famous for this mermaid statue, as seen below:

The story is that this princess was forced to marry a poor prince and she was sad and cried for her nation everyday. Hahaha it's like whaaat, right.

My caramel macchiato.

In my tour bus today, I met this really nice family who took care of us and gave us things they got for free from a museum earlier. How nice of them, I wish them well wherever they go :)

Another city down! Not exactly the most complete since there's only two days, but to see the world a little more each time I'm truly thankful. The more I see the world, the smaller I feel I am. I'm merely a person in this vast world created by the Father above :-)
