awk-tober
Monday, October 3, 2016
It's October already?! Just two months away from my favourite time of the year :-) actually, there's no specific time for Christmas. Give me Ptx Christmas songs ANYTIME.
Looking back at September, it has been a period of ups and downs but nevertheless, much to be thankful for. Even as I reflect how barterforbakes have progressed since May 2016, I'm rather speechless. Each time I take up a project, I get a bit of panic attack within me because it's for someone's 21st or a special day for someone. The importance of not screwing it up finally hits me that hey - I'm just an amateur. But EACH time I think that way, God plants ideas into my head. Ideas of the cakes I can make, decoration, setting up the dessert table, experimenting with things never done before. To me, that's amazing. Tbh, I don't exactly have an artistic eye but now, I know God is my artistic eye - the creative One that is holding me. I'm really excited to be experimenting more, testing my abilities. I'm immensely thankful for the support of my friends and family. Esp T, who truly believes in me and shares big dreams with me! Thank you friends, your support really means the world to me :)
Looking back where I was one year ago, I was down and out. Yearning for recognition, for support, for people who truly believe in me. I was easily discouraged, and after awhile I gave up looking to the Lord for strength. I decided that I can only depend on myself since I couldn't get what I want elsewhere, which almost lead me to a path of destruction. But fast forwarding to today, I'm happier. One important lesson I've learnt is that instead of always lamenting on what I do not have, why not count what I DO have? That's when I really do realize and appreciate the love from people - really pushing me and encouraging me in what I do. My heart is truly thankful. Truly grateful.
What about school? Currently, after months of finding an internship.. I'm still finding. It hasn't been easy, and the pressure of having my graduation delayed is constantly at the back of my mind. Economy is not looking optimistic now, companies aren't hiring. I have two months left to find, please do keep me in your prayer! :)
Thank you Jesus for the past month, looking forward to a great month of October ☺️
